Thanks for that info Bibbster, could be worth while for my Son to look into the Black Box thing, even though he has now got insurance, there is a 14 day opt out clause.
Like I mentioned he did looked into briefly and discounted the idea, not sure what the reasons were, maybe because Vans are not included etc.

He did his first trip to work today 05:15am for his 06:00am 12hour shift start.
He txt me to say he had made the journey ok, all 7 miles lol. He is so chuffed to be on the road , like we all were when we got our first vehicle.
One of his mates got 6 points for driving without insurance, although the lad did claim that he thought he was covered at the time, at 20 years old his insurance is now prohibitive so no longer drives, it is crazy to risk it, but I guess there are loads of young kids out there on the roads with no insurance, due to the cost.
My lad is really is enjoying this new independence, and took his mate to Jodrell Bank yesterday, 100 mile round trip, and had a great day.
Just had a look at the Tax Disc on my firms car, and it is just £20 for the year, no wonder with 50 cars in the fleet, that they have got us on VW Golf BlueMotion's.
