Thanks so much Lurcher Luvva. The girls are much better today - I think it was just a ghastly thing to witness. I also think the fact that they ended up with blood on themselves, was pretty distressing. I'll tell him that you said they did well to hold on to him as that will give them a boost!

I agree with you about the muzzling. My vet is pretty much against it - for the reasons you say about being able to defend themselves.

Ho hum! Just another thing to clock-up to experience!x

We have a couple of suicidal cats on my street . My boys are always on their leads , but it can be a challenge when one of the cats sits in the middle of the road or crosses towards us

We had a close call this morning when we were coming back from our walk . There's an Akita on our street who hates all dogs and most people with a passion ; it had just come back from it's walk ( really it drags the guy around the park and streets ; every dog owner in the area avoid them ) and the guy took it's lead off in their front garden . The garden has a gate and a wall , but it's pretty low . It saw us and almost got over the wall before its owner got it by the fur and dragged it away I know it would kill both my dogs if it got the chance .

Might have a word with the Dog Warden and see if they can have a word . He doesn't have a muzzle for it and it's often in the front garden ; I've even turned back and had to talk a mile long detour to get home if it's been in the garden alone

Oh my goodness - that WAS a close call. I'm not so keen on the Japanese Akita - I've heard too many sorry tales about it. A friend of mine has a colleague who was savaged by one - totally unprovoked while she was walking though her local park. It's a "status dog" like some people raise staffies to be. So they can be so dangerous because they're being raised that way.

It's the Jack Russells I have to cross the road for with my Dan. They hate him for some reason. They see him and (thankfully so far all have been on the lead) really start snarling and barking! He was attacked by one in kennels. Shame.

He got his dressings off his wounds today and is doing well. Onwards and upwards!

I think you should speak to the dog warden - it sounds like a very scary dog and you should report it.x

Just found out in the last few days that greyhounds chatter their teeth when they're excited! And Dan's started doing it when he sees me. Love it!

It's a great sound isn't it ? It's because he loves you !

How's he doing with his food now ? Settling down ?

I was hoping it meant that! He's been much better - feeding him Burgess Sensitive Lamb and Rice. Normal poop until today!! Well, when I say that, one of them was not so good. But I'll keep an eye on it (lucky me).

The vet had given him a probiotic and something for colitis and the prescription ran out on Friday (going back tomorrow). So, I think the food is agreeing with him better, but I'm wondering if he still needs the colitis med.

We'll see - I hope I don't have to buy more food - costing me a fortune
