Hi weegmack, its lovely to hear from you, I thought about you at 7.30am this morning. Glad to hear the news was good and nothing to worry about. Thats one less worry of your mind, lets hope you get your other problems sorted soon.
Thanks so much Julie. How nice to know you were thinking of me! I'm looking very fetching in my DVT stockings here.
I'm being very well looked after by my OH and oldest daughter (youngest is at her primary 7 camp till tomorrow, but she was allowed to phone me tonight which was lovely.)
Thanks Lurcher Luvva - feeling pretty rough today. Still in quite a bit of pain and very dopey still. They said i'd be "back to normal in a couple of days" - I don't think so!!
Just need to let my body tell me what to do i think.x
It can take a week or so for a general anaesthetic to be fully out of your system, so so you could feel tired and little woozy for a few days. But movement-wise, do what the hospital have told you to do - if they said it's OK to do your normal level of activity, try to do it. The longer you stay innactive the longer it will take to get everything moving and working properly again, and it will take longer for your body to shift the gases they use in laparoscopy.
What I did over the last few days was carefully do some household chores! It kept me moving around. This morning I felt less inhibited by pain, so I've been able to take the dog for his walk and will be walking him later today when I go for the kids at school.
Just doing things in fits and starts, if you get what I mean. I think the gases have shifted (my poor family lol!) and I no longer have any pain in my shoulders.
So plodding on. Got an appointment on the 8th April to see another surgeon to try and get some help for my hiatus hernia and gallstones. That's a whole other story.....
