Genuine bb holders should be supported and given as much help as possible. Where it's abused stronger action should be taken. I know of mobility car owners letting their family members have the car for work and social activities while the dla holder might be taken out once every 6 months, clearly not what it was intended for.
I don't want to see any bb holders having to pay parking charges it should be free at all council and government car parks, there but for the grace of god etc.
Regarding what you say about family members using someone's Motability car I think they are pushing their luck.My wife has a Motability car and we can only have two drivers on the insurance ( the wife and I).
my gripe with disabled bays is non blue badge holders using them and nothing being done about it, and bb holders cant find one and have to walk a distance. most of the car parks my way we have to pay i dont mind paying
You only have to watch parking spaces being filled up by students using their relatives badges to know that this is only the tip of the iceberg. I have personally reported these drivers to Social Services and know that nothing has been done to prevent or seize the badges. How do I know? Because the same people use them again. It's a nice little money saving option for the "well educated".

(On the other side of the coin, 7 out of ten vehicles using disabled spaces have links to crime or shouldn't be on the road)

People on disability benefits are usually on a much lower income to the average person particularly if their disability prevents them from working, the majority would love to be able to have a better income by working but it isn't possible, if they get a very small concession of free parking in a very few car parks then I'm all for it, they have a difficult enough life as it is without people begrudging them parking with their badge for free, can't bear the I'm alright jack attitude to be honest, some people have a very different life to the majority and the few people that abuse that should be done for it good and proper but don't pick on the people that seriously need to use the bays free or not.
