Yes. I usually put in some carrots, leeks, onions. Sit the beef on the vegetables add stock & red wine and cook low and slow. Hubby said it's delicious.
Skirt is another cut that I like for making a stew.

If you brine it for a few days, then boil it slowly for a couple of hours and let it cool. Pop a weight on it in the fridge and you have salt beef which is brilliant for sandwiches with mustard and pickle.
Slightly off topic but I just thought I'd mention it.
Absolutley in the slow cooker. It's about the only way to cook brisket, certainly the best in my opinion. A monthly staple at ours, usually cooked in ale.
I do not use a slow cooker anymore as it is buried in the garage somewhere, and would slow-cook on the gas hob in a pan instead.

Picked up brisket by mistake instead of a roasting joint.Still roasted it though and yes it was tough. Two days later chopped it up for a caserol/stew.Never buying cut up stewing steak again. The tast of Brisket is loads better.

Gas hob on for hours on end? Unattended?
Of course not!
Learnt my lesson the hard way. I was making a soup, and had to go out to do some shopping, instructed (now ex) hubby to keep an eye on it and to keep stirring to prevent sticking.
He fell asleep, resulted in burnt soup, and I had to scrub the pan for ages to get all the charred bits off!
I bet you some people may though!
