Saw him a few years ago in a stage production of Yes Prime Minister - he was brilliant!
OH loves Bottom - so NOT funny (cringe, squirm) yet actually funny as well!
Excellent comedy actor with a total lack the airs and graces.

Heard tell theres to be some sort of tribute to him. Fronted by Miranda Hart. Its a good job hes not around to watch it himself,as he'd be mortified that such a poor 'front man' had been chosen to do it.
Surely, someone along the lines of Ben Elton, or Rowan Atkinson should have been approached to do justice to one of the funniest men the country has ever produced.

Miranda Hart just isnt in the same league.

Miranda Hart - drives me DAFT. Please - this man deserves someone better - ANYONE! Shame - there are few people who make me reach for the remote control quicker! Oh well, I expect there are people who didn't particularly like The Young Ones, Bottom etc but love her. Poor, simple souls!

So sad, a really talented man.

He died suddenly - does anyone know what happened to him yet? I know he had a bad accident a few years back, head injuries from a quad bike accident.. I wondered if it was repercussions from that.

Apparently he suffered epilepsy as a result of the quad bike accident. His friends and family believe he had a seizure and died very quickly.

Of course nothing can be confirmed until after the post mortem.

Personally I think it was "Neil" the hippy getting his own back for the years of torture during the young ones
