But really!!! Obviously you need to take a hair dryer. How can anyone relax with one's hair in a mess? Mirror...well of course and it is also of benefit to have one that will hang from the cupboard behind the mirror so that you can see the back of the head whilst you dry the hair. One cannot relax out in the sun without one's Panama keeping the perfectly coiffured hair in place in the event of a draft. As for soggy flapping fabric I find that James always provides a change of clothes and is more than happy to go to the laundry room to dry and iron. Don't you have a James? We don't get haystack hair, soggy flapping fabric and cut offs at Chatsworth. How very dare you Phil
That's all very well, but I belong to that enlightened breed that absolutely insists on her lady's maid having a whole week off every year, in addition to the half day each month. What, therefore, is the point of taking a hairdryer with no maid to wield it, or a mirror with no maid to hold it?
As for James, he's far too busy grooming the horses (and besides, the only hairstyle he knows is a plaited ponytail).
PS - Phil, do feel free to drop in any time you're passing the Palace

Do you know just how long it takes, the older I get, to get handsom in the morning enough to venture out? Without the mirrors, hairdryer, gel, fixer, creams and clothes I just dare not let the world see me too early in the morning. Once the face and hair is sorted then I get into my slacks and shirt, cravat, and I am ready to walk the dog. Then its another hour or so for the little woman to get fit for the day....
Just doing above the shoulders is enough without having to touch up the body if I am to reveal all! Phil
