You have to consider if you will need a new chimney liner, baffle plate, hearth etc... as well as the stove.
About 8 years ago I had a stove installed in my 1840's house. It needed liner, baffle etc but hearth was already there.
Cost then was £1300 installed. £1700 seems not unreasonable depending on cost of stove.

We had a concrete lining put in the chimney for £1200. The guy who did it then fitted the stove for free. Other places wanted 500 or 600 just for fitting. Ask a few more firms.
Just had ours done.10m of 904/316 liner,knockout fireplace and make good(plaster etc)chimney cowl and new pot,oak beam.Cost £1600.Got stove off ebay unfired ex display for less than half price
