What a great supportive thread this is, well done to you, weegmack, for going to the wedding and enjoying it, good for you.
As the mother of a 17 year old daughter with anxiety issues (she lost over two years of school in Years 8 - 10 because of it) I know how badly it can affect people's lives, we got help from CAMHS, the first being four years ago, and we are now on our second round of treatment, and she is coping much better at the moment, although we still have up and down days and challenges, she is learning to accept it for what it is, and that in itself has helped her to improve.
All I know is that every time you challenge the feelings and push through that barrier (or give Mr WHAT IF what for! as jeffjuke so brilliantly puts it ) you are building further confidence and experience to draw on which may help you the next time things are really hard to deal with, or you are having a bad day/week or whatever.
You have done really well, and not only for going to the wedding, but having the honesty and courage to post and ask for some support on here, how great that you got such a wonderful response.
Jane.

Thanks so much! Hasn't it been such a positive response from everyone? It really, really helped me out of a complete "funk" that I was in. I'm actually having a better week so far because of being able to talk it through. I'm so sorry to hear your daughter has problems with anxiety - I hope she continues to have more better times.xxx
