Hi, I'm looking at getting a second hand Roomster Scout 1.9 TDI and would be interested to hear from anyone else that owns/owned one. In particular what were your impressions of the projector headlights and body roll. I'm only going to be towing a trailer so towing ins't a major issue. Any thoughts or comments appreciated.

Not had one myself, but one of my customers has had one for a while now. He loves it, he reckons it is great. Personally I prefer the yeti, but thats all about personal taste.
As for projector headlights, my mazda6 has them. They are very good in all weather conditions, but if a bulb blows, only use quality replacements. Ours blew a bulb and I got a cheapo off ebay. The focal point of the bulb was slightly off, and that light was next to usless. After fitting a quality bulb, everything was great again.
As for body roll, with any tall car you will experience varying degrees of body roll depending on how you drive. But you will get used to it very quickly and in the end you wont even notice it.
Good luck with your new car (when you get it) I am sure you will enjoy it

OH wants a Yeti next year, but petrol version due to DPF and only averaging around 6,000 a year. Can't get a 1.6v so I'm going to suggest he look at this. Been reading up on sites such as honest john. Also YouTube has some stufff. I am quite impressed.

A friend's Roomster first put us onto Skoda's "camping friendly" cars.
We went to have a look and as it happens our local dealer had a demo Yeti with DSG in stock at a good price so we ended up with that. Rear seats tip, fold, or come out altogether.
Only a petrol 1.2tsi but has taken us to France and back 3 times with no dramas.
They are a good bang for the buck and use many VAG parts. Indeed, several Audi and VW models are made in Skoda factories.

For camping van like cars are excellent. True MPVs are OK, but many of them are quite large vehicles.
I have a Merc B class, which swallows all our camping gear, but it is shorter than a Focus so easy to park in tight spaces. The rear space with seats down is large enough for a standard pallet and I'm sure this is not a coincidence. The height helps to as larger objects can be loaded on their edge.
