I was on route to a camp site on the A75 and approached a busy roundabout. The car behind me honked his horn as I didn't drive off quick enough for him. I did hesitate a wee bit but it was nothing drastic. There were roadworks and I was just getting my lanes right in my head. No drama. This driver, who was well into his 50s then tried to run me off the road. I wish to God I'd got his reg no as I would have reported him to the police but I was trying to keep the car in check. How can grown adults be so dangerous on the road - I had a small child in the car!!!!! I hope he reads this and feels ashamed!!!!!
I guess you are right! Seems so unfair as he was shoving me off the road and meant it! In all my 25 years of driving I've never witnessed or experienced anything like that! I'm a nurse and see the damage that road accidents cause - but without a witness nothing can be done. Eyes popped right out of my head I can tell ya!
They walk amongst us! In previous years they would have been kept somewhere secure. Seriously people who use cars as weapons because they cant control their temper are dangerous.
Two days ago I was beeped at on a roundabout on the A82. My car stalled and in the extra , maybe 10 seconds it took me to restart, the man behind beeped at me.
I really wanted to ask him if ' losing' ' those 10 seconds had dramatically changed his day... And indeed if he thought honking at me had enabled me to restart faster ???
I love the advert that's been on the tele recently with the kiddies singing ' the wheels on the bus' and becoming progressively aggressive as they sing it....... Seriously, if children are being shown the example that short tempered, aggressive driving is the norm , we are in for a very scary driving future.

wife had a bus driver bully her last year, so we complained to the bus company. they tried to fob us off, so i sent them a few stills from my camera with speeds and clearly showing how dangerous their driver was. Their attitude changed instantly and they panicked initially, but became quite helpful wanting to know more detail. Suffice to say we were later informed that the driver was disciplined.
also, check your reg number on youtube..a lot of people post similar.
oh and apparently it is an offence to beep your horn whilst stationary which is a separate offence to misuse for aggression!
not sure how the police would handle it with video evidence, although rumours do suggest that they have become interested in a few youtube vids.
Long ago when I used the A75 quite a lot, I thought many of the drivers on that road were complete A**holes.
However, I also find myself getting frustrated by drivers who take too long and annoy other road users. I don't try to 'run them off the road', but I do scream at them things like "Do you need a push, you ********".
I think that drivers who drive too slowly cause as many problems as those who drive too quickly.
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
I went past an old boy yesterday in the traffic who was a serious danger to others. His front trye had completely gone and he was driving on its remanants and the rim.
I was on my scooter so pulled up alongside in the stationery traffic and explained. He told me to eff off and he was sorting it !
I offered to help him put a spare on but he told me to clear off.
I can only hope he didnt crash trying to turn a corner.
I wish i had my minicam on that day but i had forgot to charge it. When people realise they are on camera the attitude change is amazing.
I got honked at when trying to exit from a side street into a busy two lane highway.... Took me a good few minutes and all the time this guy was honking at me.
Wish I'd had a camera and video of the incident! His ass would have been badly whipped by now from police I'm sure. Jeff Juke - let's say he got got off lightly eh? I feel better about it all now - was sooo frustrated as I couldn't do anything about it! Thanks for your input - Happy Driving!
