I was at the Model Club and walked down to the dunes just behine the coast road for the flypast.
When the previous display ended, people were standing arond, and then somebody said that something was by Blackpool. Stood and watched them approach.
What a wonderful sight.
Even my thirteens nothing impresses me year old daughter was impressed and understood the historic significance of it, especially the two Lancasters flying together. Although she would die a slow and painful death rather than admit it.
It is hard to explain, but there was a feeling of total respect for what these plance stood for. Something different than for the other planes.
Seeing the two Lancasters together with the Spitfire and Hurricane brought a lump to my throat at the recent air display on Jersey. Wonderful sight and doubt it will ever be repeated.

I have three sides, left, right and wrong - which one are you on?
I took my daughter (aged 22) to RAF Waddington to see the two Lancasters and the Vulcan together - not a dry eye on the airfield (or for miles around!). Wonderful sight and sound.
