My OH has relatives that live in S. Africa. We have visited, it is a beautiful country but I could not live there.
One lives in a gated community with security and another lives in an area with armed guards in vans at the entrance to their street. They have grills on every window and door and constantly live in fear of intruders, but get on with their lives. Security is not always what it should be, so they also have guns.
So from that point I can understand how he "may" have thought their was an intruder, but as I said before no one but him knows the truth.
