Tragically no DFDS on the exibitor list so no cheap ferry tickets for 2015.

Hot off the press – just some of the new model launches at The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2015 – NEC Birmingham

•     WildAx Motorhomes to launch two new van conversions
•     Rapido launching two new motorhomes
•     Moto-Trek also launching a new coachbuilt motorhome
•     Half term week, February 17 – 22 Birmingham NEC

The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2015 will see a host of exciting new products, from both sides of the English Channel, unveiled for the first time.

Leading UK manufacturer WildAx Motorhomes will unveil two new motorhomes. With the news so fresh model names are as yet undecided, these exciting new vehicles will be made to rival the many VW T5 based campervan conversions on the market and the show will represent the first time that press and public alike can see them.

UK firm Moto-Trek will debut its all new X-Cite G at the NEC in February. This new model has had no expense spared on it, coming with a new low line pod including opening sunroof, new fully moulded back panel, new one piece roof and the company’s signature slide-out side. Moto-Trek says it’s the UK’s first 3,500kg coachbuilt motorhome with a slide-out side.

French firm Rapido will also showcase two brand new models. Taking its bow at the NEC in February 2015 will be a new low profile model, the 650FF, based on the 2014 MMM Motorhome of the Year the 640. It features an island bed, five berths and five seatbelts.
Also making its UK debut will be the 890F Design Edition A class motorhome, with a high specification of internal equipment, four berths and four seat belts as well as many other innovations. Both models are based on Fiat chassis.

Duncan Wildman, WildAx managing director, said: “We can’t reveal too much more at the moment, but what we can say is that we have been busier than ever before recently, with many orders to fulfil, and we believe launching new models at the 2015 start-of-year showcase will kick off the season in style.”

Alexis Hacques, commercial export / sales executive at Rapido, said: “We enjoyed a very successful show at the NEC in October and we are looking forward to launching these new models to the UK market in the new year. We’re anticipating a good 2015 and the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show is the real start-of-season showcase for us so it makes total sense to present our latest innovations at the event.”

Andrew Whalley, NCC Events managing director, said: “This is just a taste of what is in store for visitors to the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2015. We will announce more exciting news in the weeks ahead and I can’t wait to welcome the public to our show next year.”

With over 350 exhibitors, the Show is a fantastic value, family day out for both the newcomer and enthusiast alike. There’s also the popular Dog Agility feature, Learning Zone, cookery demonstrations, onsite campsite, towing and motorhome manoeuvring lessons and have-a-go free activities for the family.

Inspiring holiday adventures in the great outdoors

•     The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2015
•     Half-term week February 17 – 22 Birmingham NEC
•     Fun for all the family – advance tickets from just £7*

Following a great British summer this year the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show at the NEC will kick off the 2015 holiday season in style, inspiring visitors to take a holiday in the great outdoors and enjoy time together away from home. Speaking at the Show about how family life can be improved and enriched by travelling and living in a caravan or motorhome, are two families who are doing just that.

The Meek family sold their house, quit their jobs and have taken their kids out of school in order to increase the amount of quality family time they have. They’re currently heading around the UK living in a caravan and ‘home’ schooling their daughters, Amy (11) and Ella (9) as part of the process.

Meanwhile the Hurst family sold their house, bought a brand new motorhome, delayed their son Daniel starting school and embarked on a journey to visit as many of their Facebook friends in person as possible. They are currently travelling around Spain and will visit more of mainland Europe before returning to the UK in January. Again, the entire family will talk about their experiences at the show.

The Show is a great day out for the family and for anyone looking to compare and contrast all the latest caravans, motorhomes and camping gear, not to mention holiday destinations, all under one roof.

In the Expert’s Theatre visitors will get a fantastic introduction to buying that first caravan or motorhome from leading journalists John Wickersham, of Practical Caravan, and Dave Hurrell, chief road tester for Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly.

Visitors can go one better than listening to advice, and actually try towing a caravan or driving a motorhome. Taking place outdoors at the show will be the ever popular Towing Experience, in partnership with the The Camping and Caravanning Club and Volvo cars and Motorhome Manoeuvring Lessons in collaboration with The Caravan Club. Both features are ideal for both newcomer and enthusiast as they can give it a go in a safe environment under expert guidance.

The show is also the UK’s largest camping exhibition, 10% bigger than last year’s show.
One entire hall is completely dedicated to tents of all kinds, from pop-ups to inflatables, multi-room tents and tipis. All the leading brands are there, including Coleman, Isabella Kampa, Khyam, Outwell, PJ Outdoors, Quest, Robens, Royal, Sprayway, Sunncamp, Vango and Zempire.

Andrew Whalley, NCC Events managing director, said: “If anyone wants to find out more about holidaying in the great outdoors with their family they need to come to the NEC in February. Not only do we have a huge array of products on show that facilitate adventure, we’ve got features and speakers that will also inspire visitors to go camping and caravanning in 2015.”

With over 350 exhibitors, the Show is a fantastic value, family day out for both the newcomer and enthusiast alike. There’s also the popular Dog Agility feature, Learning Zone, cookery demonstrations, onsite campsite and many have-a-go free activities for the family.

More exciting new model launches at The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2015 – NEC Birmingham – February 17-22

> Bailey to showcase all new entry level motorhome range
> Wellhouse Leisure to unveil three new van conversion models

Hot on the heels of last week’s new product news, The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2015 will see two more well-known brands showcase new models to the public. Visitors will get to see fantastic innovations from these home-grown, award winning firms, Bailey and Wellhouse Leisure, with the latter revealing two of its new products in public for the first time.

Making its debut on the manufacturer’s own stand, Bailey will have its brand new, entry-level, coach-built Approach Advance range of motorhomes. Aimed at the first-time motorhome buyer the Advance shares many of the features and characteristics of the company’s higher specification Bailey Approach Autograph range but with even better value for money.

The Approach Advance is an entry-level, low-profile, coachbuilt motorhome range with four popular layouts (including a six-berth with longitudinal drop-down bed), a narrower 2.35 m body width (almost the same width as the cab) and maximum weights of up to 3,500 kg. This makes the new Approach Advance range, based on the Peugeot Boxer 2.2 Hdi, 130 bhp, Euro 5 engine, easy to drive by anyone with a full UK driving licence, without needing B+E entitlement. Representatives from Bailey will be present at the Show to explain the new range in detail.

Wellhouse Leisure will have three new van conversions models at the Show. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ford Transit, Wellhouse Leisure will reveal a Cinquanta special edition of its Ford Terrier campervan at the February show. With a luxurious, bespoke specification and distinctive appearance, the Cinquanta will also be exclusive as only 50 will be made.

Another all-new, Ford-based campervan from Wellhouse Leisure makes its public debut at the NEC show. Based on the Ford Transit Connect LWB, this compact, two-berth, car-based campervan includes a kitchen and a pop-up roof to maximise the living space inside. It’s under 2m tall, has four seats and will offer fuel economy of over 50 mpg.

Finally, the company will also have a LWB (long wheelbase) version, with high-roof, of its award-winning Wellhouse Ford Terrier (Campervan of the Year 2014). The 5.34m overall length (compared to SWB 4.97m) creates extra space for an L-shape kitchen and a rear, corner washroom with shower and Dometic cassette toilet.

Andrew Whalley, NCC Events managing director, said: “Not only do visitors to our show get to see leading manufacturers launch new products themselves, but they will also get unrivalled inspiration to take a holiday in the great outdoors and be able to browse and buy all the equipment they need.”

Marquis to launch a new Benimar Range model at The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2015

The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show will see yet another new motorhome model launched to the public for the first time. Following on from the company’s exceptional sales at the Motorhome and Caravan Show held at the NEC in October, Marquis, one of the UK’s largest dealer networks of motorhomes and caravans, has announced that it will unveil a fifth model in the exciting new Benimar Mileo range of motorhomes at the NEC in February.

Part of Trigano, the Benimar range is built in Spain and is made up of continental styled luxury coach-built motorhomes with the new Mileo 231 measuring 5.99m and coming packed with top of the range equipment, yet still on sale at an affordable price.

Based upon the all new Fiat Euro 5+ 3,500kg right hand drive chassis, with a 130bhp engine and six speed gearbox, the new model boasts a two berth layout consisting of a fixed French bed and bathroom to the rear.

The Mileo 231, as with all Benimars, is available with an upgrade option of the Fiat Comfort-Matic gear box and its central kitchen offers a Mediterranean feel whilst the luxurious front seating area offers two rear travelling seats. Unusually for some European imports the habitation door is on the UK side, making it ideal for British buyers. Show visitors looking for more information on this new model, and other Marquis exclusives, should visit the firm in Hall 3 / stand 3150.

Advanced tickets start at just at £7*, kids go free, and free parking and a Show Guide are included too

Outdoor expert Ray Mears, Olympic Champion Sally Gunnell, TV presenter Matt Baker and surfer Melodie King to feature at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2015

The UK’s largest start-of-season holiday showcase will feature a host of well-known personalities with a love of the great outdoors, including TV’s wilderness bushcraft expert Ray Mears and inspirational Olympic champion Sally Gunnell. Both will speak about their passions and undertake audience Q&A’s in the Experts’ Theatre, with Sally going on to star in the Dog Agility feature with her dog, Diggy.

TV and radio personality Matt Baker will attend on opening day, hosting activities on The Caravan Club Stand and throughout the event in the Expert’s Theatre will be professional surfer Melodie King, from Cornwall.

The Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2015 kicks-off the 2015 holiday season in style, inspiring visitors to take a holiday in the great outdoors, get active and enjoy time together away from home. It’s a great day out for anyone looking to compare and contrast all the latest caravans, motorhomes and camping, not to mention caravan holiday homes and holiday destinations all under one roof.

Ray Mears grew up in Southern England on the North Downs, where he discovered a countryside abundant with wildlife and he even learned to track foxes in the forest. Over the past two decades he has become recognised throughout the world as an authority on the subjects of bushcraft and survival. Through TV shows including Tracks and World of Survival, Ray Mears has become a household name and his adventurous spirit has made him popular with people of all ages – from small children to grandparents. Ray will appear on Thursday the 19th February so don’t miss him!

Sally Gunnell is perhaps most famous for her gold medal winning run in the 400m hurdles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and for being the only woman to hold Commonwealth, European, World and Olympic track titles concurrently. She went on to become part of the BBC Sport team and has appeared in numerous TV shows including A Question of Sport and Total Wipeout. Sally is a dog lover, mother of three boys and today she promotes health and well-being for everybody in the UK. Sally is a passionate supporter of initiatives that encourage families to be more active and she will appear on Wednesday the 18th February at the show.

Melodie King is a professional surfer from Cornwall and at just 17 is one of the sport’s rising stars. Currently placed 5th in the UK in the under 18s ladies division, Melodie will be taking time out from her schedule to attend the show and talk about competing, the benefits of leading an active lifestyle and of course living near the beach! Melodie will be present for the entire event.

TV and Radio Presenter Matt Baker will be on The Caravan Club Stand on Club Day Tuesday 17 February. As a two times BAFTA winning presenter, Matt’s love of the countryside, which encourages families to explore all that the UK has to offer, is sure to prove popular with show visitors.

With over 350 exhibitors, the show is a fantastic value, family day out for both newcomers and enthusiasts alike. There’s also the Learning Zone, cookery demonstrations, onsite campsite and many have-a-go free activities including a show first ‘outdoor-style’ fashion show for kids and adults providing inspiration for that all-weather wardrobe.

Andrew Whalley, NCC Events managing director, said: “It’s fantastic to have such well-known personalities coming to our show and I am sure they will be a hit with visitors of every age. All of them have a passion for the outdoors and visitors to our event will see how a caravan, motorhome or tent can be the enabler to getting outside as a family, enjoying quality time together and being active.”

Latest release:

Following his recent appearance on BBC’s Room 101 and after careful consideration, we have decided not to work with Ray Mears at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2015 so he will no longer be appearing as a speaker at the event in February.

We enlisted him as a credible ambassador because of his love of the great outdoors, something which our industry and community share. Therefore we were disappointed to hear his comments on TV, which were made and pre-recorded before we entered into discussion with Ray’s agent. We feel his agent should have made us aware of this pre-recording the moment we began communicating.

Knowing that these comments would come to light and then agreeing to work with one of Europe’s largest shows of its kind, with tens of thousands attending, we feel he has acted in a less than professional manner.

We’re sure that if Ray spent a weekend away in a caravan or motorhome he would very much enjoy himself and realise what a fantastic enabler it is to getting outside.

We have extended an invitation to him to attend the show in a personal capacity to meet, and speak to, visitors about the benefits of this timeless and much loved leisure option, enjoyed by millions of people every year across the nation.

As the ultimate lover of the great outdoors, we do hope that Ray will accept our invitation, as well as the offer of a weekend away in a caravan to experience the freedom, quality of life and fun that caravanning provides.

The show will go on and we are looking forward to welcoming our other celebrities Matt Baker, Sally Gunnell and Melodie King to the NEC in February.

Broadcaster and adventurer Ben Fogle will support The Camping and Caravanning Club on the opening day of the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show at Birmingham’s NEC.

On Tuesday 17 February 2015, Ben will take part in the show opening, and share his passion for the great outdoors with showgoers in a Q&A session on the main theatre stage.

He’ll also help the Club launch an exciting new glamping product, aimed at adventurous young families, and couples who don’t want the hassle of hitching up a tourer, pitching a tent or manoeuvring a motorhome.

Ben said: ‘Camping and caravanning holidays are perfect for families that have a healthy spirit of adventure. Adventures can be big or small – you needn’t necessarily cross Antarctica on foot, or the Sahara. There’s nothing more fun or healthy than exploring the natural environment, and camping puts this simple joy within reach of everyone.”

Ben has travelled extensively and toured the world for various broadcasting assignments. In his Channel 5 series ‘Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild’, he spends time with people who have turned their back on the daily grind and now live in some of the world’s most inhospitable locations. He has also rowed across the Atlantic, conquered Antarctica and run across the Sahara.

He is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, an ambassador for WWF and a keen supporter of the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. And a few years ago, Ben helped The Club broadcast the findings of its Real Richness campaign, which found that campers and caravanners really do enjoy a more stress-free lifestyle.

About camping, Ben said: ‘It definitely chills me out and I find it’s a great way to switch off from my manic schedule. I can’t wait to get my growing family into the camping habit and introduce them to all the joys and fun it brings.’

Be sure to visit The Camping and Caravanning Club’s stand (Hall 4) at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome show from 17-22 February 2015

Why do they need these £10,000 speakers at all?

Is there no-one in house or a manufacturer or site owner, Cornwall council public relations dept, Devon ditto, ferry operators willing to do this for Nowt?

I'll bet he thinks twice before selecting caravanning to go into room 101 in future since that cost him £10,000

I'm somehow guessing there are quite a few backpacking wild campers out there who share Ray's view on motorhomes. With hindsight perhaps Ray Mears was not the ideal candidate for the job?
