Very little in it, in theory, and I guess what you're really relying on, is a local that can tell you what the traffic is like in the town centre?
According to Google maps, "Your way", going around the west of Stafford and exiting at J14, is 10.3 miles/14 mins from J13.
Coming off at J13, and taking the A449 & A518, shows 6.1miles/15mins, but cuts through the town centre.
A third option, staying east of the town, but again taking the A449 from J13, it shows 6.5 miles, and 15mins.
So in theory, there's only a minute in it, but J13 saves a little on mileage.
If it was me, I'd risk it, and take one of the J13 options, but I guess a lot depends on time of day?

... But then I thought... hang on... I bet they're bloody towing... which it now looks like you are... so I'm gonna take a stab at staying on until J14... but what do I know? I don't tow!
