As children we were told we had to eat at least a small amount of all veggies on our plates before we were allowed to leave the table. I loved my veggies but my sister hated Sprouts as a child, so to be able to leave the table she used to sneak a couple of sprouts into her pocket - got caught out when she forgot about them and Mum found them when she was doing the laundry

As a child I was also told that I had to eat my veg and the fat off the meat or I wouldn't get any treacle pudding.

DaneR - if you find sprouts bitter, you are a taster!  It doesn't matter what anyone does with them, how 'wonderful' their way of cooking them supposedly is, you will still think they are foul!  It's genetic - you can't change it .... you will never like sprouts!
