Don't get me started! Once we were in France, all packed up and van ready to go, but I couldn't find my keys anywhere. OH and I searched the van out for about 30 minutes before I realised I was wearing them on the lanyard round my neck, zipped under my fleece. The stuff of family legend now, of course!!

A good few moons ago, the last time we holidayed as a family, we came to lock up the rented static, and couldn't find the door key. Turns out eldest had had it last... and had since got changed to travel home. So I made him go through the loaded van, find the buried laundry bag, then dig deeper to find the jeans he was wearing earlier... voilą, one caravan key, which was promptly left with ranting/tutting/impatient dad (moi), who sensibly attached it to his key ring, all safe and sound. Just minutes later, said key was handed back at reception, and all went on our jolly way.

2 hours later, we stopped to re-fuel... what looked like the filler cap key didn't fit/work, so out came the tool box, and one smack with the lump hammer/large screwdriver later, said filler cap was released... and destroyed!

Pay for fuel, pay for new temp push-in filler cap (and ultimately, a new lockable one!)... and off we go again... wondering what on earth the caravan owner is going to do with his newly acquired tranny van filler cap key!!

I lost my engagement a few summers ago whilst on holiday in Cornwall didn't go away again til late summer the following year and there it was in the bedroom pocket in the tent , the moral of this story is we must go camping more often .

Yes, Yes... enough about you lot... back to the important matter of the OP...

FOUND IT!!

Seems, it was in there afterall... ergo, it seems I can be that stupid afterall!! DOH!

Still, on the bright side, there was no nasty seepage from batteries, and although I part-opened the tent up in the spare room, fumbling and burrowing my way through the many layers and clumps of the purest cotton/polyester mix at arms length (No room to fully open), I even managed to eventually roll it back up neat enough to get it back in the bag, so all's well!

Thanks for listening!
