I couldn't type yesterday, the tears just wouldn't stop and I'm not much better now. My heart goes out to you but at least you know that Woody is at peace and out of pain. At the moment I'm taking every day as a bonus with my 14 years 8 month old selection box rescue mongrel Coco who I have had from an 8 month old pup. He's arthritic, almost blind with cataracts and a little deaf but still likes his walks - just not as far. I'm sure I'll know when the time comes but I'm dreading it.
I know everyone says that one will know when the time comes but Tigger was diagnosed with congestive heart failure Jan 11 LAST year and unlikely to survive a couple of weeks, then start of renal failure August last year. He's still here and still defending territory against devil cat next door - he saved two sparrow fledglings today from the brute, one of which he picked up in his mouth and he's not a retriever type.
All my previous pets have passed on in their sleep with no prior warning. Just how do you know?
