i have a talktalk youview box, when i watch the tv through the box the picture is a bit dull compared with the tv, i have a latest panasonic tv with a great picture. does anyone know how to brighten up the pic, i can't see how to tune it.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but You View and Panasonic TVs are not very compatible. I have a You View box and sometimes I press a button for example the OK button and the subtitles come on!! It has a mind of it's own.
everything works ok with the box and tv, monks get on to your supplier of the box as it must be faulty, i tried replacing with my late mothers box and the picture was the same but her box controlled the tv, whereas with mine i can turn box off and switch tv back to dvb no probs. could do with brightening the pic. oh monks i think there is a button on the remote that can stop the problem you have we had that once. maybe you touch it when holding remote.
No expert but go into settings on the youview box and set to HMDI 108p
Then get the TV remote and press menu and adjust the picture while it is going through the youview box.
The TV menu will come up even though it is getting the picture from the youview box TJ
2 suggestions .... many modern TVs need each HDMI input to be configured separately. Check the picture settings on the input the YouView box is using. And does the YouView box have its own picture setting adjustment. Also try a different HDMI lead. (3 suggestions then! )
We have a you view box, or should I say had one, the problem we had was most of the Freeview channels digitised when through the You view box but when viewed straight from the TV we had a brill picture on all channels, we got in touch with talk talk and they said it was due to our internet download speed, and tried to talk us into Fibre optic, which we turned down, on further checking it turned out Fibre optic is not even available in our area, we still have the you view box it's on top of the wardrobe in its box.
