The Quantrantid meteor shower is due tonight, and will be "brief and intense" - look North / North East, preferably blocking out the almost-full moon behind a building or tree. Most visible at 9:00 tonight (Fri 3 Jan), there should be 80 meteors an hour at its peak. We have clear skies, so we're optimistic of seeing them.
Saw one really good one from our back window at around 1am then got fed up waiting and went to bed.
The moon was very bright and with all the frost it was just like daylight.
"...Most visible at 9:00 tonight (Fri 3 Jan)...
"...9:00pm is eastern standard time. It will be roughly 2:00am Sunday morning in the UK...."
...so the USA is about 29 hours behind us... That's what I call real jetlag...

The time I quoted was taken from a UK Daily Telegraph article. We had hazy skies in that direction anyway, but pin sharp in other directions which was frustrating.
