Mine holds the emergency details of what to do with my dogs in the event of an accident. It holds the details of who will look after them, who my vet is and details of my pet insurance. My dogs are often in the car so at least if I crash and can't tell anyone who to contact there's a chance my dogs will be looked after

Can you clear up a point here, miss baritone? Or anyone else? If one's pet(s) are micro-chipped and involved in a possible accident, would the emergency services not use a vet to check the microchips when checking the pet(s) welfare to gain details and so get info that way? Would be very useful info if I ever get another dog.
Not doing your idea down, just asking the general question.
I'm still debating what to do with my tax disk holder - like the idea of emergency info but also worried if someone breaks into my vehicle when I'm away and can pick it up - not an issue on island but is elsewhere.

From robnchar's link - "“All information is optional and the blank discs can be used to add customised information, or attach a passport photo to help link the information to the right person. If there is more than one regular driver or even regular passengers, consider printing multiple discs and add a photo or description of each person. The Emergency Contact Disc can be used alongside existing medical alert products like bracelets and necklaces.”
PC Wise added "If people have concerns about security of information, they can omit certain details. We would advise that if the next of kin address is the same as the driver's address, it may be sensible to leave this portion blank"
"The information within the disc would give little or no information away that could aid potential criminals and any slight risk is far outweighed by the benefits".
