Alot of comments are made about the riders age.... Sadly its not only kids who tear about on pushbikes placing themselves into situations like this.

Reading all this makes my wonder if we are heading for a lot more campsites categories. Campsites with high hedges & privacy, no cycling campsites, car free campsites (don't know how that would work with the amount of stuff I take!)

I want to think of this as an accident, very hard lesson for the child & parents and a lucky escape from a much more serious incident for everyone.

I don't think anything about the driver not rushing to help. They could be seriously shaken & shocked. You also don't know if people are going to be nasty in a situation like that where their child maybe hurt.

I think we all agree that children do rush about and sometimes wear blinkers and thats how it will always be but! Surely as parents we should do a bit of forward thinking for our younger children like the young child in the video.

Was it the childs screams as she was hit by the car that alerted the parents or did they realise she was going round a blind corner on the wrong side of the road and just not bother or did they not have a clue where she was?

What gets me is that its usually the driver of the car that automatically gets the blame in incidents like this!

I still don't think many posters have noticed its an Australian campsite. Same side of the road driving & same language but different campsites & different equipment so not directly relatable to UK.
