I'm thinking of going to Normandy for 2 weeks with my caravan in July. Can anyone tell me is there anywhere to stop for 6 hours through the night not far from Calais or am I best stopping near Dover and catching an early ferry. If anyone has travelled with a dog how easy is it to get the return vaccine from a French vets.
Thanks all

Some will stop overnight at a campsite near Dover. Black Horse Farm is popular with morning ferry catchers or if you want to cross in evening I would drive away from Calais before you park. My favourite free overnight off the motorway is a supermarket car park, probably safer than motorway services. In the direction you are going I would drive down A16 a few miles in direction of Boulogne, off at J36 for Marquise, just down main street see that Aldi on right or through town to other end & theres a Carrefour, either of those are ok & quiet.
Not sure about stopping, but it is quite easy for the vaccine, prices vary greatly, look online before you go. there is a thread in the camping abroad forum with a list of vets that people have used.

The aire at bay de somme looks a nice place to overnight with nice set out bays. We only had a short stop there.
I stop there all the time in my truck . Can pick up the excellent free wifi if you get a spot close to the building. Eu 2 for a shower & the facilitys are spotless. Foods not all that & pricey tho , but what do you expect from a MSA.

J46 off the A16 at Calais on the old St Omer road. About 2 or 3 km down there is a Routier. Not busy with trucks no more due to the stowaway problem , but if you eat there she will let you park O/N . Foods nice & only Eu14 for a 3 course menu with wine.
