Yesterday I had a steroid injection in my shoulder. (I have had shoulder pain for the last 4 months). To be honest the actual injection wasn't painful but I had a reaction to it. Heart rate and blood pressure was raised and I felt dizzy and faint. The doctor made me lay down till I was feeling better.
She told me not to worry as a lot of people have the same reaction.Wondered if anyone on here had had one and suffered the same?.It really knocked me for six, I slepted for hours when I got home.
Hi
My mother-in-law had a similar reaction. She warned the doctor that she often "faints" with injections ,but this was very severe ,I was called to collect her brought her back to mine and she slept for a couple of hours ,and was then ok, not sure the injection helped her much.
I have had one elbow two in left shoulder one in right sbouder one in each knee . I was in a lot of pain and swelling no swelling but pain still here I had no dizzymess or sickness
I've had them in both elbows and both hips. I've never had a bad reaction, but the first time I had my hips done, by a rheumatologist, I nearly hit the roof! It didn't half hurt.
I had one in my shoulder a few weeks ago.
The only side effect I had was that the shoulder pain got worse but different for a few days.
It's now marginally better, but still not right, but mines been going on for almost a year now, so I think I possibly left it too long before doing anything about it.
It's been a fortnight since I had the injection. I can move it alot better than I could although I am still getting an amount of pain in the top of the arm. I'm hoping it will keep improving
Have you tried a Physio to see what causes the pain ? I was knocked off my scooter last year and got an injured shoulder. The pain was immense but after keeping at the exercises the physio prescribed it's all gone now.
