Mrs Bonce, your hubby sounds exactly like me! I have no interest in this modern technology, but I love my 50's 60's 70's music. My Daughter bought me an IPod and had to put the music that I wanted onto it, I wouldn't have a clue how to do that. I couldn't live without it, I used to sit and listen for hours on holiday, never getting bored while sunbathing. I have just managed to get it playing in my new car, only trouble now is everyone knows what I'm tapping my feet to and singing along to😄
Have a look at this one. It's easy to click'n drag music onto it. I have 2 similar ones in the car. One searates from the speaker and battery case and plugs into the car. The other is as pictured and plugs straught in. Both with USB connectors, one has my music, the other has SWMBO's music.

Thanks, most of the music he likes is on old fashioned tapes or vinyl though, forgot to mention that. I suppose I will have to buy them from somewhere. We have an envivo thingy that will transfer music on tape to CD, but because I'm not interested and he won't learn how to do it, plus I find it difficult, it doesn't happen very often.
There's a lot of help for ripping music on here. (You Tube).
If you look on You Tube for the recording you want, you can use a program such as "You Tube Downloader" for copying all to your machine. You can set it to record the sound only, so you're not recording the video as well.
You've just got to be careful when downloading the software that you don't pick up rubbish to spoil your machine.

When the video says "7 easy steps" you know it's not going to be straight forward. Anyone who has converted from vinyl to digital will tell you it's not worth the hassle. You can't even get children to do it, as they'll be on the phone to childline before they have done the first album.
If he really is as much of a Luddite as you suggest then probably a iPod is not for him. However, with an iPod Nano and an iTunes account you can load on his favourite tracks at 70p per track or borrow CDs from the local library for the albums he already has to copy on to his iTunes library.
It is easy once you get going.

He's even more of a Luddite than I suggest (was going to post "best ipod for an idiot", which is more like it)! No, I don't do 7 easy steps, and need written instructions.
I used to be a luddite, but am now converted. I must have 60gig of music on this pooter, enough to listen to until the next genteration are ready for retirement!
