Just to confuse things further, some offical forms ask if you are a tablet controlled diabetic, or an injection controlled insulin Diabetic, which leaves those patients controlled by the new injectable drugs like Byetta or Lixenatide rather confused as what to answer correctly, as although these new drugs are a good control for type 2 Diabetes, they are not insulin based, and very rarely cause Hypos.
