So I should pretty much finish my trailer this weekend and its been great working on stuff using skills I learnt so many years ago. So for my next project I have been looking to make an outdoor corner sofa.
Has anyone done anything with pallets? Any downsides or does it become high matinance very quickly ?

I think I saw this done on a tv programme recently - could have been 'Love your Garden' or DIY SOS'. They built a frame using pallets, then added cushions. Cushions would take up a lot of storage space when not in use, I imagine!
If you Google 'pallet sofa' there is a lot of info, and a YouTube vid. There might be useful comments too.
------------- Always edited for sloppy typing - when I spot it!
getting hold of pallets isn't that easy! certainly aren't cheap at £5 each, for each seat needing 4 of them and then paint and cushions, why bother? you can get hold of decent patio furniture for less
Why bother? Well 1m x 1m pallets are £3 and I could make a 2x3m corner sofa with a rolling coffee table. Under the seats I can make a sandpit for the baby. Place for toys etc And most important of all it keeps me outside and busy. The foam cushions won't be an issue to store.
To keep it cheaper I can use 4x4 fence posts but again its just to keep me busy. After using my brain all week it's nice to use trade skills I actually trained for on leaving school.

we take in pallets from a few factory owners to turn into kindling to sell along side our log business.
Most of the pallets that we get around here are treated and no good for kindling.

I always think it is really satisfying to create something from scratch, particularly if it involves recycling and using your own skills and imagination.
It would be nice to a picture of your finished items when you get round to it. I bet not many people could make anything, they just go and buy it these days.
My kids cannot even sew a button on and I really mean that and it is not from me failing to teach them how to sew, it is just easier to ask me or dump it.
