Totally agree, the original four were brilliant. There was a wonderful rapport between them which was effected when Jack left and as Dennis Waterman is quoted saying, "Great TV shows are like rock 'n' roll bands - you mess with the line-up at your peril"
Used to be one of my favourites. Watched some of it last night, couldn't watch it right to the end, it was that bad. Last night's episode was the first I had started to watch for a while and it's going to be repeats of the original team only from now on for me. Should've finished it several series ago on a high.
Let's just stick with endless repeats then? Old episodes of new tricks, minder, sweeney, likely lads etc.
I thought the new series was ok given that it had some older actors in it.
The natural ageing process means they are going t be a bit more "wooden" much like ageing singing celebs.
Better than some of the new age drama series that have been offered of late - very dark and difficult to follow the spoken word sometimes without subtitles.
I've watched it from the beginning. I enjoyed it best with the original actors but I enjoyed the first episode of the new series and am looking forward to next weeks. I think if you think of it as a different programme not the same.
