Definitely driven mad by music here as well!
I do sympathise, OP, for the past 8 years we have had noisy inconsiderate neighbours, they also play loud music (the bass is coming through into my home as I type, and that is with all the doors and windows shut on a lovely day like this To be fair to them, this is far less often than it used to be, but no less stressful when it happens.
The worst problem, though, is that they also have two large Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs which live in a run next to our fence all year round, and bark and throw themselves at the fence whenever we go outside, so effectively we can't relax in our own garden, they also bark at all hours of the day and night.
The language that comes over the fence from the people and their visitors is appalling too and especially so as they have two children themselves, they are basically ignorant chavs of the worst kind, 'do as I like, and sod everyone else' attitude, and they don't fit in around here, it is not a 'posh' area but a reasonably nice one, they stand out like a sore thumb.
Worst of all, they are homeowners so we can't get them evicted, I did ask them to move the dogs away from our fence and they refused, I was effectively threatened by them at the time.
We are not prepared to go down the environmental health route, and are waiting it out until the dogs die, basically, as an animal lover it pains me to say it can't come soon enough, but the poor dogs have no life, out in all weathers, never walked, but RSPCA and dog warden can do nothing as they are fed and have some shelter
Once the dogs are gone, we are moving, hopefully it will coincide with our youngest going off to uni in a couple of years time, and it will be to a quieter area well away from here, we are more than ready to make a new start after bringing our children up now anyway.
We don't have a hope of selling with the dogs there, anyone going out into the garden would face a barrage of loud barking.
OP, in your situation I would definitely approach the landlord and definitely log all incidents and report to environmental health, as tenants they are on dodgy ground if they are causing a noise nuisance, and will eventually be evicted if it does not stop.
I just wish we were in a position to do the same with the thick, stupid low life that we have next door to us. I am not intolerant to noise, I have 5 kids and actually like hearing kids playing, even the next door ones! Better go now, before I give in to the temptation to turn the jet wash on the lot of them over the fence, oooh, my hand is itching!
