I know very little abouts cars, from a technical point of view, but I do know we  our Kia Sedona3.
Discontinued in 2012, so can't get new now. That was the time we searched for ours, and ended up with a 2 year old ('10 plate). As it's a Sedona "3", it is top of the range, for that era. That doesn't mean it comes with everything, like the top of the range for many other brands, (It is a Kia, afterall!) but it's luxury for us. Leather seats, heated front seats, electric doors (sliding side doors and rear boot/tailgate) and windows. Automatic box, A/C Climate control, cruise control, reversing camera (shows up in rear view mirror) and, erm... think that's it! No built in sat nav or hands free 'phone thingy, but we can live with that.
I recently found out it does around 31mpg, which I'm led to believe isn't brilliant? As it's a company car, and I fill up on the company card, again, I'm not too fussed.
No idea about BHP, kerb weights, towing capacity, double-up-cam-shimmy-lifters, number of valves in the doodah, and all that tosh! There's a battery under the bonnet though... I do recall seeing that on the only time I ventured under there! 
Things that drew our attention...
Very spacious and comfortable. Has a little "picnic table" between the two front seats. All seats, including the two "in the boot" are proper sturdy full seats, all forward facing. Some of those rear seats (on other cars) can appear a little flimsy, for my liking. Not so in the Sedona. It does mean though, that these seats are big, bulky, heavy, and somewhat awkward (there's a knack!) if you are considering taking them in and out on a regular basis!
Although a company car, we specifically got it to suit our camping (for just the two of us, I must add!).
With all seats in, it's a pokey little boot, offering just 214L for camping gear.
We removed the rear two seats permanently (so now a five seater), so for our normal everyday camping weekends, it now offers us 1485L, behind the middle row. (We can add to that, by folding down those middle seats, and plonking gear on top, but no idea how many litres that gives us?)
For our two weeks in France, we take out that middle row too, which gives us a massive 3423L of luggage space... but just the two seats now, of course.
From memory, that was more (very much so, in some cases!) than all the Galaxy's, Espace's, Alhambra's, SMax's, Picasso's etc we also looked at, with only the somewhat much more expensive Chrysler (Grand Voyager?) offering more space (and luxury, to be fair).
Ok, most of those rivals, at the top end at least, offered more luxury, or at least the option for it, but it showed in the price too, of course. Within reason, space was more a priority than luxury for us. (Since added my own Parrot 'phone thingy, dash cam, and have a decent sat nav, so I have all that I need, despite some not being "built in"!)
Excellent price, particularly when compared with similar aged competitors, and of course, even used, that 7 year Kia warranty rolls on!
One of my colleagues has just taken delivery of a brand new VW Transporter something or other. Yes, it's massive, got great load space etc, but it's still rather "van-like" inside, and it comes with an equally massive price tag. To us, at least, this Sedona 3 is a luxury car, and does not resemble a van in any way. I'm glad we chose what we did, and am very happy to stick with what we have!
If looking, note I'm talking about the Sedona 3. I believe they did lower spec'd 2 and 1. No idea what they are like!
