My lawn is covered in mini mole hills. Turned out to be ants nests. I went round with Nippon ant powder but it doesn't seem to have made much difference.

Has anyone any advice on how to clear ants nests from the lawn. Obviously boiling water will kill the grass.

Mix 50 to 50 of Icing Sugar and Bicarbonate Powder and put around the holes. Easy and cheap.

That looks good thank you. I have to be careful what I use because of the dog although looking at the picture of the can in your link it seems to suggest children and pets need not be excluded.

I suppose they will be too busy baking cakes to bother with making mole hills

Sounds good though and worth a try.

Funniest thing I have read on this forum for a LONG time.

Much more to my taste than the rubbish to be found in the jokes section.

Dissolve some and pour it into the holes first, nyoull get rid of mist of them then leave little piles where they are running and they'll take it back and feed on it and die.

Good advice thank you. At the moment they have turned into flying ants and are everywhere!! Hopefully they will have become food for the birds by tomorrow.

Leave them as they will disperse quite quickly themselves. Ants are good for the garden as they only take rotted stuff into their nests. They usually fly off this time of year as the new queens have to establish their own colony.
I find them fascinating to watch
