This year we went to the far north west of Scotland just as they were having their worst summer for 70 years. Wall to wall cloud, gales and rain. Breakers were so big that we couldn't launch the canoe and jellyfish brought in by storms at sea. On the upside; very few midges! Next year we will be going to Greece for a week as I need a break from the UK weather. I'm sorry to say this as we've had so many lovely hols in the UK, but it's depressing!!

There is a Scottish band called Travis who had a hit with "Why does it always rain on me?".
Says it all really!

We had a month (June) touring around Dorset this year and the weather was beautiful. Same thing the beginning of July. Just hope it's the same next week in North Wales

I would rather have our weather than what they were getting in London.

Sorry you had bad weather, sinbad, but it was probably happening elsewhere too and we're currently enjoying a lovely long spell of sunny days & balmy nights. South of the border never hear about when we're basking in glorious sunshine up here and you're in a monsoon down there, because the news is always focussed on the bad weather. Dorset, Norfolk, N Wales - all are indeed probably warmer (further south, hardly surprising) but give me a Scottish summer where it doesn't get dark at night, the sunsets are glorious over long white beaches, and there aren't hordes of people and gridlocked towns & villages. Each to their own, there's a site or area to suit us all, and I hope you find your ideal spot in Greece.
------------- 2025=3 sites, 5 nights; 2024 = 20 sites / 41 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.

Agree about Scotland - and we're off up there in a few days time for a month. Can't wait!

Greece is a long way to tow your caravan sinbad, how long do you think it will take.
Have you thought of going to the South of France, almost guaranteed Greece type weather during the summer months, and less than a 1000 miles towing involved to get there.

Arrived on the Gower yesterday and the sun came out, went for a walk on Cefn Bryn and could not believe how clear it was - we could see the Brecon Beacons, South Pembrokeshire coast and Lundy Island as if they were ony about 20 miles away. A northery wind does have some advantages. It was raining nearly all the way here though.
