My son has had both a colostomy and a urostomy as a result of massive diverticulitis problem, he is only 37 and has done marvelously with them. He says you need to get your head in the right place to take complete ownership of them as soon as possible.
After 5 months he has healed well enough to successfully undertake his delayed stem-cell treatment for multiple myeloma this week, I am so proud of his achievments. Like so many things in life it is a mental challenge as much as a physical one.

As of this morning today, Gill was admitted to hospital with a suspected 'blockage'.
'Something' was starting around Thursday last week, and has steadily got worse until today. She was trying the usual Lactulose and Senna' but never worked.
So, my question is, is there anything else that others have found that may help prevent future 'blockages'??
GcMS2012 unfortunately the immunosuppresents caused a very violent reaction and side effects. The consultant has immediately taken them off him. He was very surprised as a low dose but said there is a small percentage of people who cannot take them and obviously hubby is one. Now back on steroids to get flare up under control. Due to see consultant again in the next couple of weeks so goodness knows what's next as steroids is a short term fix.
Really appreciate everyone's input on this thread thank you.

She came out next day (Wednesday)), but had to go for an ultrasound yesterday (Friday), to find out exactly what the cyst was, but they informed her it was being 'reabsorbed' - similar when you get a blister.
