I feel Marc crossed the unwritten rule/agreement in motor sport of any sort if you are not in with a chance of the championship don't get involved.
Having said that Rossi was out of order in an already dangerous sport, I believe if he didn't look at Marc before the incident he may have got away with it.
The punishment starting at the back next race, if anyone can do it Rossi can, for the fans been better to even out points so it would be a straight race in Spain.
Are you saying danny should of sat it out then? I was rooting for Rossi, not anymore i am afraid to say!Marc is paid a lot of money by HRC to put them on the podium. Personally, i think we were robbed of the greatest battle ever! Valentino is not the only person to be able to win from the back, marc did it in moto 3 a few years ago, looking forward to valencia!
Rossi crossed a line, which was wrong, but TBH Marquez showed his true colours by letting Lorenzo through then doing everything possible to baulk Rossi. There is a train of thought that Rossi`s punishment should have been greater, but was not so because of his standing. There is also a train of thought that Marquez has shown that, despite his undoubted talent he is immature and a potential danger to others on the track.
It discredits the sport when the actions of individuals remove the `sporting` aspect of the contest, and both were guilty of that in this instance. Rossi was technically wrong without doubt, but Marquez was morally wrong also. Unfortunately being `morally` or `sportingly` wrong carries no weight with anyone but spectators nowadays - just as Matt Neal in BTCC escaped punishment a few years ago for letting his future team-mate (driving for a different team to those who paid his wages at the time) through to win the championship whilst deliberately blocking Jason Plato. It just devalues a championship which had been closely fought over an entire season, and needs to be addressed to maintain credibility
I think [as does hubby] that Rossi should of had his points taken from him on Sunday.....not just put to the back of the grid for the next race. That way neither gain from what initially looked like some amazing riding, but so easily could have ended up with some serious consequences. We are lucky that the racing world isn't either discussing the end of a racers career through life changing injury or worse a fatality.
As others have said, totally lost respect for Rossi after Sunday.
------------- My photos allow you to see what I saw at the time that I took it....No messing.
I think Marquez was trying to hinder Rossi (and I think he was doing the same at Philip Island, too: having looked at the lap times, the tyre saving defence is far from compelling) and I think Rossi's behaviour was totally out of order.
Lorenzo's tantrum that Rossi didn't get a harsher penalty was just childish. The only one who's come out of it looking ok is Pedrosa, who has refrained from getting involved and looked the bigger man for it.
It's made for a very disappointing end to what has been a great season.
Looks like Lorenzo`s position at Yamaha could be in the balance for 2016, L. Jarvis and Yamaha bosses not happy with his comments/remarks about the incident.
Yep Lorenzo in the dumps at the moment, always thought Marquez a very dangerous rider even in his lower class racing days. Only a matter of time before he seriously injures himself or some other rider. Would love to see Rossi come through from the back

I tried Google, but couldn't find any references to Honda wanting Lorenzo for next season.
I know it was widely rumoured that Honda were considering him as a replacement for Pedrosa for this season, if Dani's arm pump problem couldn't be resolved, and there's plenty online about that.
The more I've read online about the various press conferences, the more I think Pedrosa is the only one of the lot of them who's actually behaved like a champion.
If he keeps the form he's got at the moment, I wouldn't rule him out.
