Thanks all, his foot is a lot better now but he has a lot of aches and pains which are genetic. We have looked around Maldon and went to Burnham yesterday which we liked. Harry Hound enjoyed sharing our chips!
Got in a nice walk along the Chelmer yesterday morning, it didn't start raining until we were nearly back. Going to see the old church at Bradwell today. I suggested to OH that he drops me off in Maldon on the way back so I can look round the shops, filled him with panic, thinks he will get lost. We have a satnav in the car...

Don't give in, make him drop you off and tell him not to be such a big wuss - what is he, a man or a mouse??!

I have a very temperamental personality - 50% temper and 50% mental
HIS bank balance? anyway, we went to Bradwell and the old chapel is being re-roofed, so fenced off, but we went for a good walk. Harry Hound was able to indulge in his favourite occupation of digging for crabs.
When my OH asks if I have done something (in the "I know you haven't and this is telling/reminding you to do it" way) and I actually haven't done it, I now just say "no, have you?". He now gets the message that there is nothing stopping him doing whatever it is.
Other times I am not quite so polite and just say " no, do it yourself. I am your wife, not your servant". He knows he has really overstepped the mark when I get that one out!
------------- I have NEVER been lost, though I do admit to spending several hours locationally challenged
More tentage = Campus Sherpa 4 - reproofed and still going strong
In Memorandum = Vango Quest, Khyam Chatsworth, and a frame tent OH wouldn'try!!!!
