Properly fed up I am......
Hubby been working weekends so no Camping/Fishing trips for a while
Hubby has this weekend off so planned to sneak a combined C & F trip in.......fast forward to yesterday when he receives a letter telling him he has now got his very long awaited appointment on Saturday...gutted
The timing also rules fishing out
------------- I have NEVER been lost, though I do admit to spending several hours locationally challenged
More tentage = Campus Sherpa 4 - reproofed and still going strong
In Memorandum = Vango Quest, Khyam Chatsworth, and a frame tent OH wouldn'try!!!!
Just went through a similar situation, been waiting for 6 months for hospital appointment and got a cancellation.
Got the choice of 5.30pm or 7.30pm, they are so busy they are doing evening slots now!
------------- It is a wise man who has something to say.
It is a fool who has to say something.
My wife has been waiting ages for an appointment at the hospital and they keep phoning her up asking if she can be there in 10 minutes as they have had a cancellation...we live over 20 miles from the hospital, at least a 30 minute car ride on a good day! She will probably be waiting for ever or maybe we should find a house next to the hospital.
I had to wait ages for a hospital appointment and strangely, all the hospitals in the area had exactly the same waiting time. Coincidence? I don't think so.
After eventually getting to see a doc. and subsequent admin incompetence, I was asked if I could make a certain date. NO, I was going to be on holidays. They weren't pleased that they were going to miss their target, but I just said 'Hard luck', if I had to wait for them, they could wait for me.
On the day of my treatment, the consultant said that I should have gone directly to her and she would have done it privately without the wait!
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
I'm fed up with following the system, such as waiting for an appointment only for someone to tell me I should of just phoned up/turned up when I felt like it or my favourite "if you just asked nicely"
How do these people find this stuff out?????
What's the point of having a system?????
And don't get me started on the helpful cancellation phone call..... Lots of people work or live further than next door to the hospital.
Well look on the bright side, with the high winds and heavy rain forcast over the Uk for the rest of this week, it would have been a bit of a challenge keeping the tent pitched and damage free to say the least.
We had planned one final trip out with our caravan which was due to start today, but we decided it just was not worth the risk after listening to the weather forcast, potential 80mph winds are a no-no for towing.

------------- Just love to be out amoungst Nature and Wildlife

I'm with you feeling devastated we were due to have a long weekend in Wales this weekend for my hubbys Birthday and to visit our son who we haven't seen for 3 1/2 months.
We didn't get to use the van last summer because hubby needed surgery on his foot, the consultant and hospital told us he would be in within a fortnight, then for the next six weeks it kept getting put off until he finally got surgery in September. No caravanning for us for 10 weeks post surgery.
We then went away in March the van developed a leak, the fridge failed. So we had 2 trips over the summer with no fridge, then the van was away for a month for repairs.
This weekend was to be our first trip since we got the van back. Weekends for us aren't easy due to work so I'm having a big mardy sulk!
