No you're not. Me and my husband are exactly the same. Like a chat but prefer to just be away with my husband and dog. Each to their own, it's your birthday so do what makes you happy. Enjoy xx
It's your 60th, do what you want.
For mine we had a couple of days at Seaton and I had a Driving day learning to drive a tram on the Seaton Tramway.
This year was my wife's 60th and we went to Canada for 3 weeks to visit her cousins and aunt.
When I was 60 I paid for a weekend at Centre Parcs with OH, 2 pairs of children and 2 grandchildren, sharing a house. Worked out fine, though I seemed to do a lot of washing up....
Have rebooked for next year when OH turns 65.
We always go for a couple of days in Scarborough for our birthdays, although for mine that often turns into a fortnight for mine as its in summer!
We always go out for a special meal whilst we are there, although l am looking to do something special near to home with my family if l manage to make my 60th in 2yrs time.

Celebrating 37 years of Caravanning in 2019, Recently Considered Retiring, but Totally Addicted for Life!
I would think the 'odd' people are those that have a massive bash for their 60th. Most don't, it's just another birthday, really. Hows your health? if it's good you might have another 30yrs of useful life left, that's something to celebrate.
It's good to mark the milestone birthdays with something or they blur together. I spent my 40th on the ferry back from Tiree with work colleagues, got home at 9:30 to a lovely meal my OH had prepared. For my 50th, a long lunch at home with a small group of close friends and my sister visiting from NZ. And the Norwegian Coastal Voyage later.... You spread your celebrations through the whole birhtday year - that's my philosophy!
