And a Public holiday! Though not for us self employed folks. I took my Saltire flag on a cruise. An American lady asked me what flag it was, which surprised me as the ship had been to Gourock & Oban by then, where she'd have seen it. She was startled when I told her that the Union Flag would look very different without the Saltire blue, should Scotland ever be independent. (Just a statement of fact, I'm not opening a debate... Let's get the European Referendum done first.)
As far as I know, Ireland has not been part of the union for quite some time, yet the "union flag" is still sporting the Cross of St. Patrick.
Also, Saltire Blue on the Union Flag is not the same colour as the Scottish Saltire.
The one on the Union Flag is actually the Tenerife National Flag, but what Tenerife has to do with us, I have yet to fathom out!!!!
