Bring plenty waterproofs, maybe even a change of clothes.
A warning for heavy rain has been issued for the north east coast up here, but we're not sure just how far it'll stretch along and down the coast....

We have just returned from a weekend break staying in a Scarborough town centre hotel. We had very few problems on Sunday for the outward journey M1, M18, M62, A614, A165 and along the coastal road into Scarborough. Quite a lot of the seafront is closed down for winter, and theres evidence of resent storms overtopping the south bay beaches with sand on the roads everywhere.
There were however a few problems along the A165 today, single file wading traffic in places with the council trying to pump away the water around Filey near the junction just before Gristhorpe, and failing miserably as more water was pouring out of the drains faster than they could pump the flood away. The only positive thing was the ease of parking, the Seafronts were almost bare of parked cars, and you could park in tge town centre with ease.
Woops, edited to add l have just realised my post may have been posted a little too late to be useful!

Topic: flooding/weather
Will be travelling from Rotherham, but just wondered if we may encounter any flooded areas on the way?. We usually do M18, off at Howden. Any info much appreciated. Thankyou
