This week we have travelled in Cheshire and the Welsh borders. Although we do use our campervan and caravan all year round (usually) , I was a bit surprised at the large number of people braving the damp weather and cold. Lots of pitches taken around Wrexham area and similarly around Frodsham and Delamere. It really cheered me up and I think the caravan will be out of storage very soon indeed.
------------- cramming for my finals in the twilight zone
I really wouldn't fancy tenting at this time of year but if I had a caravan or campervan I'd be tempted, especially when the sun makes an appearance. A change of scene is generally beneficial.
------------- Always edited for sloppy typing - when I spot it!
Oh yes, a load of us went camping over the weekend, plus it snowed, an added bonus.

Glencoe was really busy over the new year period....Mostly M/homes and campervans with the odd tent dotted about....
This past w/end Mostly tents...Temps dropped well below freezing Friday night with snow falling most of Saturday...Never heard a word of complaint either from our group or any other tenter....
Mind you...Plenty of layers (Clothes wise) hot food and drink....And a tarp up over a roaring fire all helped in this department....

Oh yes Jelboy, having tarps and fire make such a difference and a big fryup for breakkie to set us up for the day, so yummy. I loved Glencoe, also especially the hospitality given by great company. I enjoyed every minute.
I will get up there again, later in the year with Ken.

Nice one Krazy, was it a Nutty Squirrels meet?
Not this time, not quite. 4 of us, south of the border went upto Glencoe. It was my second visit. This time my very first experience, I had the whole campsite to myself,on my first night, very strange experience indeedee.
Can't wait for my next visit, hopefully later in the year. Between you and me, i prefer snow in winter, than rain in the summer.

Glencoe at its best, you are a hardy bunch!
Nothing hardy about it Vango.....All wrapped up well with hot food from two ovens...Plenty of hot drinks tea/soup etc and a roaring fire going day and night...Best of all.....Apart from one or two other tents dotted about we had the place to ourselves...Great!!

A roaring fire, aarrrhhhhh total bliss. Keeps you warm and boil a kettle, even cook on it. Hardy bunch! I echo everything which Jelboy says.
I use for those wet muddy times, are deck boards, they are brill protecting the ground, great place to take off boots and leave outside under a tarp. I moved away from the rubber matting to these, dirt cheap from B&Q
