Just signed up to a new forum "caravanersforum.com"
Which is a similar forum to this, only setting out how it is done in Australia. Very similar problems with damp (surprising) and repairs. Vans are a lot heavier than ours with higher beefed up suspensions.
Interesting to join up though and exchange views and perhaps help fellow adventurers (being the operative word when you read their posts).
Go on have a basin full and a laugh at their antics.

been to Australia 4 times loved it there , saw some great caravans at Watson's on the Pacific highway some had washing machines in the back , a few had bike racks on the rear frowned upon in the Uk , I love the sun screen covering the front windows which also protects the front windows while towing , I took a few photo's but don't know how to get them on here , also loved the door insect screens not like the crappy springy things you get in the UK ,

We hired a motorhome in Australia last year, travelling from Cairns to Sydney, with diversions inland and across to Canberra.
We saw some nice caravans, including the Australian market bailey and Swifts.
SUVs or pickups seemed to be tugs of choice, mainly Toyota or Mitsubishii etc.
Saw a few Disco 4s on sites.
Caravans are expensive there, but cars are much cheaper than here.
Their campgrounds are very well equipped and reasonably priced, some free!
Had a great time, awesome country with friendly people.
Off back there next week, this time we are going from Melbourne to Adelaide in a rented camper, then Ghan train to Darwin. Home vvia short stop in Hong Kong.
10 weeks last year, 6 this. SWMBO was born there so have some friends to visit.
Back in time to get our van out to play again!
Its just had its second service last week (had to be done because of warranty). So its ready for the off!
