Hi me again just had a thought would it be a good idea to have GF section within perhaps the general section with recipes and places to eat that have extensive GF menus in their local areas , our little lad did love the odd happy meal ,KFC , fish & chips and subway type treats but now can no longer have them , The Pizza Hut and Dominoes do GF pizza bases ,wonder if the forum moderators would consider something along those lines ?
Fat Harry's in Sandown have GF Batter, might be worth if you are near there to phone them and ask when they are changing the oil, get in there that day early and get some GF Suppers.
Hi peter thanks for the reply , a couple of questions tho if you don't mind me asking ? 1. do you live on the isle of wight ? as you know about Fat harrys 2. when you say get in there early after they have changed the oil , does that mean that they don't keep one fryer used only for GF cooking ? ,thanks for the link to that GF forum will have a good look round it cheers , ps just checked out your location , do I take that it is Lanarkshire if so a bit of a coincidence my father comes from lanakshire too
There are very few Chip shops who dedicate a fryer for GF. Most here on the mainland will dedicate one morning a month, that is the morning they clean the fryers they then only do GF stuff for a few hours.
I got the info about fat harry's from the Supplemental Board on that forum, lots of good info on there, lots of very clued up people on the forum and always willing to help, you cannot ask a daft question, no question is daft if you do not know the answer.
Actually come from Grangemouth but now live in Stonehouse Lanarkshire.
Thanks for your input you have been really helpful just had a quick look at that forum it looks really good I have bookmarked it in my GF folder , Cheers
there is a chip shop on Mostyn Street in Llandudno that has (besides the usual stuff) a vegan and gluten free menu and a sign saying they use a separate fryer for those things.
