Latest News on the Show - One Month to Go
ONE MONTH TO GO...
With a little more than a month left before The UK Spring Motorhome and Caravan Show we wanted to give you an update of what’ll be happening through the weekend at Newark Showground on April 2-3.
A large pitch costs just £45 for three nights and includes passes for two adults, with under 14s admitted for free. Exclusive to campers throughout the weekend will be free-to-play cash-prize bingo, complimentary bus trips into the heart of historic Newark, line dancing lessons and western partner dancing sessions. Then, dance the night away in one of two evening entertainment venues.
Catering for your needs
An onsite shop will provide all the essentials – basic ingredients, snacks, toiletries, etc. – and will also offer a cashback service of up to £50 for customers spending a minimum of £6. Accessible pitches with electric are available and the venue has all the amenities you would expect.
The Show
More than 100 traders will be showcasing a range of motorhomes, caravans and camper vans – as well as accessories and consumables. TV presenter and journalist John Rawlings will also be offering expert advice on motorhome and caravan touring during several sessions throughout the day. A one-of-a-kind classic Bedford OB bus which has been converted into a modern motorhome will be on display at the show… and it’s also up for sale. New for 2016, there’ll be live music during the daytime in the picnic area, and a host of have-a-go activities for kids.
Evening Entertainment - Cedric Ford Pavillion
An exciting line-up of evening entertainment, sponsored by Park Resorts, will be running on both Friday and Saturday evenings. In the Cedric Ford Pavilion, both nights open with the biggest chart hits from the last six decades courtesy of The Spinoffs, before comedy takes centre stage with Jay McGee (Friday) and Tank Sherman (Saturday). Topping the bill on night one is the incredible show from Karen Noble which charts Dusty Springfield’s early days through to her emergence as an international mega-star… Then on Saturday, The Fab4 will turn Newark Showground into the Cavern Club with a highly regarded tribute to the Beatles.
Evening Entertainment, Stuart Goodwin Pavilion
On both Friday and Saturday night, The Business will faithfully recreate classic pop and rock hits from the 1960s to the present day giving campers an alternative to the main entertainment venue. There’ll be plenty of seating and drinks will be served till late.
And that’s not to mention a host of other campers’ benefits and two nights fantastic evening entertainment!
Don’t hesitate, book your tickets now!

CAMPERS HIT THE JACKPOT AT NEWARK SHOW
EXCITED campers enjoyed a range of new entertainment at the first UK Motorhome & Caravan Show of 2016 this past weekend – April 2-3 – as cash-prize bingo, line dancing and kids’ activities all debuted.
Adding to an already packed trade element at Newark Showground, the introduction of daytime attractions to the Spring weekend was well received by showgoers with the organiser confirming a similar line-up for its Summer and Autumn events.
Mustang Caravan Club member Adrian Hambleton said: “What a weekend… great entertainment and a good selection of stalls. I’m looking forward to going back to Newark for the September show.”
Along with the daytime fun, campers were treated to two nights of evening entertainment featuring top acts from the UK’s music and comedy circuits.
The Spinoffs kicked off the packed schedule of live music, as the four talented multi-instrumentalists got the audience on their feet with an incredible set of some of the UK’s biggest chart hits from across the last six decades. On Friday, campers sat back and enjoyed the hits from Dusty Springfield’s phenomenal back catalogue, and on Saturday the crowds were treated to a set of classic Beatles sounds.
Away from the music, and respected comic Tank Sherman entertained the crowds with an uproarious set of comedy. While, former lead-singer of 1960s British band The Rockin’ Berries, Jay Mcgee, entertained the crowds with his hilarious cabaret act.
And that’s not all! In our brand new second venue, The Business faithfully recreated classic pop and rock hits from the 1960s to the present day, giving campers an excellent alternative to the main entertainment venue.
Entertainment coordinator Rachel Hippey said: “It’s fantastic to see everyone having such a good time whether it’s enjoying the line-up or just relaxing and having a drink with family and friends.”
At the show itself a host of dealers offering caravans, motorhomes and campervans of all makes, models and sizes – as well as accessories, consumables and other services – reported a healthy two days of sales, demonstrating the strength of the market.
Direct Leisure Repairs’ Wayne Christiansen said: “I’ve had an excellent weekend. Sales were good, and I have really enjoyed meeting new and existing customers. Now I’m thoroughly looking forward to the next show.”
Attention now turns to the UK Summer & Motorhome Caravan Show at Kent Event Centre on June 4-5 where daytime camper activities will once again be held and 1950s rock ’n’ roll sensation Marty Wilde and the Wildcats will top the bill during Saturday’s evening entertainment.
The shows then return to Newark Showground on September 3-4 for the season-ending UK Autumn Motorhome & Caravan Show
