My Honda CR-V hands free has started speaking to me in German. Struggling at times to speak English I'm at a loss what to do.
The user manual is useless, just says 'press the hft button and say language' which doesn't help when it's communicating in German.
I'm sure someone somewhere knows the answer.

Sounds like you need to give it the change language command in German. If your German is dodgy you could try going Hereand playing the command from your phone either direct from the internet or use the voice recorder on your phone to record it.

PS Just to the right of the English to German text box is a small speaker icon, click on that and it will play the translation.

That has happened me a couple of times - I think when the battery had been removed. I googled the change language command in German then said it in my best German accent and that was it!

On a separate note, I changed my phone recently and find that the bluetooth connection has become very unreliable. I make a regular journey to Dublin - about 3 hours each way - and the bluetooth invariably doesn't kick in till about halfway, and sometimes not at all. I assume it's the phone because I always had a very good connection with other phones but it is odd!

Surfin, you are a bloody genius. What Honda couldn't fix you did. I just took the iPad into the car, set translation from German to English and pressed the translate into vocal settings and eureka it worked. Thanks

Another thing that Honda dont tell you is that after a service or any other time that your tyre pressures get altered, your tyre deflation warning light will come on, even if there is no fault in the tyres or pressures.

This happened to us last week as we left the dealership after our second annual service, forcing us to pull over in the pouring rain to check all the tyres, then spend more time once we were home trying to remember how to cancell this warning light and return our information display back to normal, not an easy task for a technophobe like me, and in doing so l have managed to loose the cars total milage function along with trip counter 'A'.

My old 09 Civic was never this complicated, and once the keys were removed, it slept happily until the next time l came to use it. The CRV on the otherhand needs to have all switches and lights ect returning to the 'off' position to avoid a flat battery the next morning, something that l have complained to Honda about and which at first they tried to blame on the fitting of the towbar, that was until they realised that they themseves had fitted it before delivery. So now its another 60 mile round trip next Tuesday to get all the battery and electrics sorted and checked out, this is very annoying as we had asked them to do this when we booked for its annual service which was done last week.

Julia, CR-V that I took out for a test-drive did the same thing to me. I was near a garage so I topped up all the tyres (which were only a couple of PSI low) but it didn't clear the fault. On returning to the dealer I was told they had recently replaced a tyre and that would be the reason. I have since heard of quite a few people looking for how to reset the low tyre pressure alarm so it must be a fairly common occurance as you say. I'd better have a look myself, ta for the tip.

Errrrr...Perhaps take it to your Honda dealership and say

Achtung Wie behebe Sie diese dann Herr Nippon?

Or just take it to the dealer and say sort it please.

Ah, noted that the problem is fixed so disregard my sound advice lol
