I find that both Tyrwhitt and Lewins can be a bit hit and miss regarding quality.  You have to be careful with the type of cloth, the cut of cloth and the design of the shirt.

Zackfair mentions 'nice and thick' but to me that can be a sign of cheap cloth. I want a durable cloth that doesn't feel like I'm wearing a pair of jeans.  I also always check the cut of the cloth and make sure that if there is a pattern that it is symmetrical, for example on the collars and shoulders.  Finally the design needs to be good, check for double yoke, good stitching, depth in the shirt tail, etc.  Unfortunately you'd be surprised how different the quality can be for the same price shirt.  With their standard pricing the cheap shirts are the same price as the better ones.
