Would anyone coming south like to earn some money,if so i need 3 gallon tins of oil collected from castleford yorks, and if coming south i live near oxford, but i could meet you at most places south eg M1/M6/A34/M40 ,so if possible email me on hstc at fsmail.net from a motorhomer iwill pay cash of course.regards H.
I can't help unfortunately but some years ago when I was thinking about buying a motorhome, every one I saw had an oil leak. It became routine for me just to look underneath the engine before wasting my time looking at anything else. So I understand why you need 3 gallons of the stuff

Bob61, if you are every near the NEC at Birmingham, have a look around the Motorcycle Museum just off the junction.
Lots of lovely old bikes, but take notice of the sand and/or drip trays underneath some of them ....... and when I say "some" of them you will notice the ones with the drip trays or sand are all the British bikes whereas the non British ones do not need them.
There was a saying in the Land Rover forum I was on as well that said you never need to do an oil change on an old Landy (or Rangie), you just kept on topping the oil up when required as you lost that much it would never be "old" oil.

The reason for this is because on the old British motorcycles, the two bottom halves of the engine were designed with a vertical split with a sealing gasket between them. This was part of the oil sump in the crank housing and eventually the gasket would absorb the engine oil and eventually start to leak which the problem only became worse. When the Japanese hit the British motorcycle market they designed the engine sump to fit together horizontally which was a genius method of curing problem of the oil leak.
