Thinking of treating the wife to a tablet. Was looking at a Windows 10 one in Sainsbury's which looked reasonable.

Needs to have GPS good battery life and WiFi.

Then I spotted the one Aldi are selling for £149.99 which seems to have a reasonable spec and battery life.

Anybody got one of these Aldi tablets? Are they any good. Aldi are offering a 3 year guarantee so they can' be too bad.

Opinions welcomed. Thanks in advance.

This would indicate that the model number - and therefore the hardware - is the same as the review above but now updated to Lollipop. Although you don't give much away about the model no. you are considering.

A 3 year warranty is not a statement of the quality of the product!

Thanks for the comments. I can read the specs online what I was hoping for were comments from someone who actually uses one. This is far more valuable info than reading a bald spec.

I'm guessing even with the same hardware the device will perform differently with KitKat than it will with Lollpop given the operating system is an integral part of the overall package.

I tried a cheap tablet ,it looked OK but using it proved it was rubbish.I've now got a Lenovo yoga 3 ,it's a brilliant piece of kit,long battery life and good to use.£159 from curry's

In Asda you can get Samsung galaxy tab e for £159 which is excellent.

We had the Tesco Hudl 2 which was ok apart from battery life We too now have just got the Lenovo yoga 3 Argos £159.99 Which really is much better 10" screen and a 18 hour battery life and a useful little stand on the back..

Yes, battery life is usually an issue with the cheaper tablets. I have a Linx 10 and the battery life is terrible. Although the review above praises the battery life on this model (unless Lollipop has reduced it!)

I wouldn't have thought there would be a great deal of difference between Kitkat and Lollipop as they are consecutive versions of Android and the review in Saxo's link contains a number of valid hardware points worth considering!
