I've got a couple of video sequences filmed on my camera yesterday which I want to put on my blog. I've downloaded them onto my pc but each one is about five minutes long and the file sizes are too big for the blog. Is there any way of editing them down to just the important bits so they will fit on?
Ha! I've just had a light bulb moment and discovered an editing feature on the camera so I'll try that - I never normally use the video facility that's why I didn't realise - but if anyone has any alternative suggestions then I'm all ears

This is very very easy to use, drag the start bar to where you want the video to start and drag the end bar to where you want it to end, done.
open the link below and scroll down the page for the green download button video cutter
Thanks for that, I've downloaded it and managed to cut some off each end of the video but the file is still too big. I need to cut some out of the middle but can't see a way of doing it using this programme, or am I missing something?

I'm not too hot on this sort of thing (Far from it!!) but would it be possible to put it on youtube, or photobucket etc, then just put a hyper-link to it in your blog?
In theory, you shouldn't then need to edit the video, but I'm pretty certain you can if you want.
Good thinking Mucker, I never thought of putting it on Youtube. Tbh, just at the moment I'm so pee'd off with messing about with it and editing various bits of my blog itself that I'm in no mood to explore that possibility, so I'll give it a rest for now and try that suggestion later on.

Let us know when it's done, and I'll have a nosey. Been a while since I last looked at your blog!
Ooh... just realised... if it works, and you want to repay me... Our garden table/chairs are still not finished, so if you are going back to Elvaston this year, and you fancy doing a bit of mosaic tiling...

A couple of video clips added to Youtube and the links are on my most recent blog post. I might re-do one of them though when I have patience - I used Youtube's own fix to even out the shakiness (they are shaky for a reason!) but it's made some of it wavy instead.
Don't blame me if you feel seasick while watching them though

Did you realise they are not clickable links, at least not for me!!! You can of course copy and paste them or in Chrome just highlight and follow link.
Yes David, I do realise and there's naff-all I can do about it. My blog is supported by Blogger which in turn is supported by Google and I can't write or edit anything unless I use Chrome to do it, so that's how the links come out.
