I totally get how worrying this is for you. Our 14 year old son has become obsessed with body image, eating and exercise. Whilst not taking any supplements, he was still worrying us that he had the start of an eating disorder. We tried to talk to him, but nothing was working. In the end I sat him down, explained how worried I was about him, and that I was considering taking him to the doctor. We talked about healthy eating and exercise, and correct weights for age and height, as well as eating disorders. It seemed to do the trick and I got through to him this time, as well as me helping him to eat healthily by ensuring all his meals are well balanced. Which isn't doing me any harm either. He is still not 100%, but I can talk with him now if I am concerned, and he does speak to me when he feels he is spiralling out of control with bad eating habits and too much exercise. With your son being so ill at the moment he may be more receptive to a similar conversation about how worried you are about him than he might otherwise have been before.

I watched a BBC programme earlier this year, and they showed how protein shakes actually made no difference. If it comes back to me what it was called I will put a link up. Search out as much information as you can on all the stuff he is taking. At least you will then have the information for when you feel it is right to discuss it with him.

Good luck, I hope you get a break through and can work on starting to help your son through this. xx

I found the bbc report mentioned above.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6tCml6wtqrY#

Interesting viewing and basically says stick to the major brands or you won't have a clue what you are taking. I use my protein.com and happy with the stuff as it suits my needs. Easier to gulp down a protein shake after training than eat eggs or chicken as its near bed time.

More worryingly the report showed anabolic steroids in stuff being sold online which could definitely mean he's taking them without knowing through the testoroid products.
Run a mile from them, I know several who have gone down that route and it always ends badly.
One of them has a great looking physique and pulls the women but can't get it up without viagra now, he's only 32.
