Hi everyone I'm Mark and I'm about to begin my big adventure and become a full timer in my Orion 430 4 van.
I'd love to hear from anyone out there who is thinking of doing the same,or from those of you who are already living the dream,?
Any tips or advice from those of you already fulltimers, please get in touch..
Have fun.Mark.
Hi,thankyou for your reply minicamper2001...ha ha
Does no one use names on here,?...I'm new to this so maybe that's how it is,???
Nosy,??
Not at all....that's why I'm on here to chat to like minded people like myself...
Are you a full timer,??
With regard to your question...I will be staying put,but only as far as my work dictates. But I go away every weekend and on my main holidays in my van....At present I've only been away in this country, but would love to spread my wings and fly away to exotic lands....any suggestions,??
Welcome to ukcampsite, Mark! There's a wealth of experience and information on here, but might I suggest the Caravanning and Camping Abroad forum is better for travel queries, as Life in General tends to be less travel-orientated and more - well, general! However I'll try and answer your query - there aren't many true full-timers as far as I'm aware, but quite a few people who go travelling for long periods at a time. My OH and I have done two separate year-long tours around Europe in a caravan, and we met a lot of full-timers, including one couple who have been on the road for 20 years! They have an excellent website with masses of useful information - www.magbaztravels.com. They've switched from motorhome to caravan and back to motorhome, and are keen cyclists too.
A lot of people do a travel blog and these can be useful too - ours is www.travelpod.com/members/oldagetraveller.
Enjoy planning your trip!

Good evening, thankyou for your kind reply.
I trust this message finds you well, whether be it on the road or at home planning your next adventure,?
Your travels abroad sound amazing and that's something that will feature in my future plans.
Having lived in Africa as a child and then Dubai in my early thirties, working for BMW as a mechanic and Mitsubishi building rally cars for thirst for travel has never waned.
As a single man I've had the nice house..
Then downsized to a flat..
But its not for me...My van is a mini home on wheels and I love it.
Thankyou for giving me the Web address of magbaztravels site and ill be in touch with them shortly to gain any information I can...
I'll be sure to check in to your site and read all about your adventures....again many thanks for your reply.Regards.Mark.
We have been spending more and more time in our van for months at a time and decided to take the plunge and go full time touring. Will return to UK July/August and again for Xmas to be with family. Rest of time will be spent travelling in France, Spain, Portugal primarily but sure there will be other countries to.
We are going to keep a house in UK which is being let so as to keep a foot on the housing ladder.
Like Dillydom we rented out our house for a year while we travelled. Lots of scaremongerers said don't do it, the house will be trashed etc, but it was absolutely fine. Nothing ventured, nothing gained - go for it!
